Privacy Policy and Disclaimer

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application FISH HACKER - Καιρός για Ψάρεμα! (the “Application”), developed by tetra-o-don (the “Service Provider”). The Application is provided as an ad-supported service and is provided “AS IS”.
1. Information We Collect
The Application may access or process certain information in order to provide fishing weather forecasts, tide information, saved fishing spots, trophy photos, maps, notifications, and related features.
The Application may process the following types of data:
- Approximate or precise location, when allowed by the user
- Coordinates selected or searched by the user
- Saved fishing spots, notes, and timestamps
- Trophy photos taken by the user
- Weather snapshot data saved with trophy entries
- Device and app information used for analytics, ads, and crash reports
- Internet/network data required to connect to weather, map, ad, and analytics services
The Application does not require account registration.
2. Location / GPS Permission
The Application may request access to your device location, including GPS or network-based location, only when needed for app features such as:
- Finding your current fishing location
- Showing weather, wave, pressure, solunar, and tide data for your area
- Saving fishing spots on the map
- Saving the location of a trophy catch
Location access is used while you are using the Application. The Application does not use background location tracking for advertising or hidden tracking. You can deny or revoke location permission at any time from your device settings, but some location-based features may not work correctly.
When weather, marine, tide, map, or forecast data is requested, your selected or detected coordinates may be sent to third-party service providers in order to return relevant data for that location.
3. Camera Permission and Trophy Photos
The Application may request camera access so you can take and save trophy catch photos inside the Application.
Trophy photos are stored locally on your device in the Application’s private storage area. The Service Provider does not automatically upload trophy photos to its own servers.
If you choose to share a trophy photo, the Application may use your device’s native share sheet. In that case, the photo is shared only through the app or service selected by you.
4. Photos, Files, and Local Storage
The Application stores certain data locally on your device, including:
- Saved fishing spots
- Spot notes
- Trophy photo file paths
- Trophy catch information
- Language and unit preferences
- Cached API responses for performance and cost control
Saved spots and trophies can be deleted from inside the Application where available, or by uninstalling the Application.
5. Notifications
The Application may use notifications or reminders if the user enables them. Notifications may be used for app-related reminders or fishing-related information. You can disable notifications at any time from the Application settings or from your device settings.
6. Flashlight / Torch Feature
The Application may use your device flashlight/torch feature if you choose to activate it. Depending on the device and Android version, this may require access to camera hardware. The flashlight feature does not record photos or videos.
7. Emergency 112 Feature
The Application may include a 112 emergency button. This feature opens the device call screen only after user confirmation. The Application does not automatically place emergency calls and does not collect or store call history, call recordings, or call-related personal data.
8. Internet Access and Third-Party APIs
The Application requires internet access to provide weather forecasts, marine data, tide data, maps, ads, analytics, and crash reporting.
Third-party services that may receive technical data or request data include:
- Google Play Services
- Google AdMob
- Firebase Analytics, if enabled
- Firebase Crashlytics, if enabled
- Meteosource weather API
- Open-Meteo weather and marine APIs
- OpenStreetMap tile services
- Esri / ArcGIS map tile services, if satellite map view is used
These third-party services may process information such as IP address, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, app usage events, crash logs, general device information, selected coordinates, and network request data according to their own privacy policies.
9. Advertising, Analytics, and Crash Reporting
The Application may use advertising and analytics services to support the free/ad-supported version, understand app performance, and fix crashes.
These services may collect or process technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, advertising ID, crash logs, usage events, and approximate location derived from network information.
The Service Provider uses this information to improve stability, performance, and user experience.
10. Data Sharing
The Service Provider does not sell your personal data.
Data may be shared only when necessary:
- To provide app functionality through third-party services
- To show ads or measure app performance
- To diagnose crashes and technical issues
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect rights, safety, or prevent abuse
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored data, such as saved spots and trophies, remains on your device until you delete it from the Application, clear app data, or uninstall the Application.
Cached forecast/API data is stored temporarily to improve performance and reduce unnecessary API requests.
Data processed by third-party services is retained according to the privacy policies and retention settings of those services.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another region with applicable privacy rights, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to certain processing activities
- Request restriction of processing
- Request data portability, where applicable
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

13. Children’s Privacy
The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information, they should contact the Service Provider so the information can be deleted where applicable.
14. Security
The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect user information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
15. Fishing Forecast Disclaimer
The Application provides fishing-related forecasts, weather information, marine information, solunar indicators, tide information, and recommendations for informational purposes only.
Fishing conditions can change quickly. The Application does not guarantee fishing success, safety, weather accuracy, sea conditions, or tide accuracy. Users are responsible for checking official weather warnings, sea safety information, local regulations, and emergency guidance before fishing.
The Application is not a safety, navigation, rescue, emergency, or official meteorological service.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
Continued use of the Application after changes means that you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
